How to read a store listing on this site
Last reviewed · Based on official government sources
Every store on this directory comes from an official government registry of licensed cannabis retailers. This guide explains what each part of a listing means, where the information comes from, and how paid placements are labelled. We do not rank stores and do not recommend one store over another.
Licence details and source
Each listing has a licence panel showing the regulator, and where the registry publishes them, the licence number and licence holder. Under that is a link to the official source and the date we last checked it. If you want to confirm a store yourself, follow that link to the regulator’s own list. Our verification page lists every registry we use.
A “Government store” label means the store is run by a provincial or territorial agency, such as the SQDC in Quebec or the NSLC in Nova Scotia.
Address and map pin
Where the registry gives map coordinates we use them. Otherwise we place the address using OpenStreetMap data. If we could only place the store approximately, the listing says so. Always check the address before you travel.
Hours and “open now”
Hours come from the registry when it publishes them, or from the store’s verified owner. Open-now status is calculated in the store’s local time zone. Stores can change their hours at short notice, so if it matters, call ahead.
Delivery and online sales
We only show a store as offering delivery when the registry or the verified owner confirms it. “Not confirmed” means we do not know; it does not mean the store does or does not deliver. Some registries also mark stores approved for online sales. Delivery rules differ by province; see legal delivery and online ordering.
Claimed and unclaimed listings
An “Unclaimed listing” shows only what the registry publishes. A store owner can claim a listing after we verify them using the email or website domain on the official registry. Once verified, they can update their hours, delivery details and menu, or remove the listing entirely. Menus are supplied by verified owners; we do not copy menus or photos from other websites. Product information on a menu is the store’s own and is not checked or endorsed by us.
Sponsored and Premium labels
Some stores pay for extra visibility. Any paid placement is clearly labelled, for example “Sponsored” or “Premium · Sponsored.” A paid label means only that the store paid for placement. It is not a review, rating or recommendation, and paid stores go through the same registry check as everyone else. Unpaid listings are never hidden: every licensed store in a city appears in that city’s full dispensary list, unless its owner has asked us to remove it.
What we do not do
- We do not sell, deliver or take orders for cannabis.
- We do not list unlicensed sellers.
- We do not publish rankings, “best of” lists, reviews or testimonials.
- We do not make health claims about any product.
Something wrong?
If a listing is out of date, a store has closed, or you think a store is not licensed, contact us using the email in the footer. Store owners can claim their listing to correct it directly.
Labels at a glance
These are the labels you may see on a listing or a store card, and what each one means:
- ✓ Owner verified: the store’s owner has claimed the listing and passed our verification. It does not mean we endorse the store.
- Unclaimed listing: the listing shows only information from the official registry.
- Government store: the store is run by a provincial or territorial agency.
- Premium · Sponsored: the store pays for a Premium listing. These listings are shown first on city pages.
- Store deal · Sponsored: a short message written by a Premium store. It is paid content, not a recommendation from us.
- Sponsored: a paid placement in a separate, labelled block on a city page.
How stores are ordered on a city page
On a city page, stores with a Premium listing appear first and are labelled “Premium · Sponsored,” with a note explaining why. All other stores follow in their usual order: owner-verified listings first, then the rest in alphabetical order. A city’s main page may show a selection of stores; the full dispensary list for that city shows every store we have on record.
We do not order stores by quality, popularity, price or reviews, and we do not accept payment to remove or hide a competitor.
Using a listing safely
- Check that the province and city are right, especially near provincial borders where the rules change.
- If you want to be certain a store is licensed, follow the source link to the official registry.
- Call ahead if hours or delivery matter to you.
- Bring valid government-issued photo ID. See ID to buy cannabis.
- Remember that any menu or store deal on a listing comes from the store, not from us.
Frequently asked questions
- Does a Sponsored label mean a store is better?
- No. A Sponsored or Premium label means only that the store paid for placement. Paid stores go through the same registry check as every other store, and we do not rank or recommend stores.
- Why can’t I find a store on this site?
- We list stores from official provincial registries. A store may be missing if it is newly licensed and not yet in our data, if its licence has ended, or if its owner asked us to remove the listing. You can contact us using the email in the footer.
